how do you pay foreign stud fee ?

Hi there, it depends where your stallion lives.

For German stallions you generally pay by IBAN number, (that means you tell your bank to pay money to a particular IBAN number - you will get this from the German Stud).

For stallions standing in America you provide your bank details, including a "swift number" - in the UK thats the BIC number on the top of your statement, and also the IBAN number which is normally below it.

Hope this helps.

I pay the studs I have used in Germany using IBAN numbers through the bank. The bank charge a 'handling' fee - I think I paid approx £10 per transaction. You tell them the amount you want to pay in euros & they transfer the correct amount over into the stud's account for you using the exchange rate on the day of transfer.

The Post Office do international money transfers as a price comparison to the bank, or as an alternative they issue a free Euro debit card principally for frequent travellers but you could use it to pay if the stud has the facility to take it. You could also send Travellers Cheques. Or go out for a trip in a cheapie flight and deliver cash, good excuse for a short horsey break!!!!
