Ok seeing as most of us see our horses every day do you ever look at them in a different light?
This was perhaps brought home to me when I saw the pictures mum took at the show on Sunday and to me it was like seeing Pidge in a whole different light. I looked at the photos and was quite surprised/delighted that it was Pidge as he looked totally different to how I perceive him on a daily basis? Does that make sense, as its hard to put it into words. I guess what I'm kind of trying to say is that it was like seeing him through someone elses eyes. So am I just totally insane or does anyone else think this way?

I know what you mean....Its like thinking back to when you first met some one what your first impressions and now you know them how differently you think of them. Or what you thought the first week at your new yard.... Or like thinking back to the first time you see your house....Or for me when I went to visit sold/past horse....

I just think of Jesse (My yearling) as a popped belly friend....Wilf (Showjumper) is just a big fat drippy stroppy toddler...Tango (Showjumper) is big fat loving woz, scerd of his own shadow but harmless.

i know wat u mean - wen i first got my gelding he had a really skinny neck and no muscle anywhere and carried himself like a girraffe - a few years on he is rarely a girraffe and now has a normal neck - however i tend to still look at him and see that horse i bought untill i watch a vid of me riding him or see sum1 else on him

I guess I know what you mean.lol...in that, every now and again you get a glimpse of what, perhaps, they could really be capable of..
Most of the time Jasmine is just this:

I know what you mean Sue, when I see what Lance can do it blows me away, looking at him in the field last winter you wouldnt have a clue what is lurking underneath.

Honeypots, is that at Arlington Show? Were you there this year? Did you see me with my naughty pony causing trouble in the M&M in hand class?

Yes that was Arlington but that pic was from last year. I was there this year with a different pony who was rather lively and extremely loud!!!
What does your pony look like?..

I know what you mean, I think of George as a gorgeous laid back fellow who's schooling is a bit rusty, and whose Mum can't exactly ride brilliantly, but then I capture this pic of my friend riding him and think 'gosh'!

I think PF is the most gorgeous horse in the world. Photos prove I'm right!!

Actually, I've had her for quite a long time but I remember when I first saw her at a racing yard (she has a very ridiculous name which made her memorable) and I still see her as I did then.

He's black and very hairy; he did a lot of leaping and twirling in the ring, and a lot of eating outside it! I was the one who was a pale shade of grey.

...I was in a similar state tbh...daughters pony went from docile donkey to raging bull the second she stepped out of the trailer!!

Maybe there was something in the air that day or is that normal for your pony!!?

You do realise that you've just given me license to exhibit photos of the Gorgeous One

Most of the time I see Lukey as a scruffy little git mooching around the field with bits of crap stuck all over him with a hair do rivalling that of Don King

Yet when he's had abit of a spruce up he looks totally different, almost like another pony if you see what I mean!?!

maisie is a nice little coblet that could do with being bigger, moses is a lovely boy with a puppydog air about him, and lily......well, lily is a misfit and a bit of a waste of space!

Because of a throwaway comment by my then farrier..... oh that one would look good between the shafts of a cart!!!!..... I always see merlin as a bit of a carthorse..... (I know he is lovely really) ...... but he can be a posh boy too!!! and I have had some lovely comments on HHO about him.
