when me and friend take horses out in trailer, end up with a car full of saddles, bridles, grooming kit, first aid kit etc, fill up the car and gets in a huge mess. Is there anyway of sorting this out?

I know what you mean, I have the same!

Instead of just throwing it in the boot of the car, I try and put it all back nice and tidy like it was when set out. Some times it works, some times it dont!

Buy a large storage box. Put in it all the items you take out with you every time like first aid kit, torch, boots, whip, a few grooming brushes (you dont need to take the full kit) etc.

Then all the extra clutter will be reduced to a saddle and bridle

I have a slight tidying compulsion

so everything goes back exactly in its place. At a show in the summer a friends daughter came over and was chatting as I was getting ready, she looked inmy car and then in my trailer and said 'Oh my God, how do you keep everything so tidy!'

i have one of thoose giant big blue ikea bags in my car i just chuck all my bits and bobs in there when i'm out... when i'm stressed i can never be botherd putting my things away nicely.

I only take what I really need!!! Mate who boxes me takes the kitchen sink!!! seriously!! but its cool as she always has the things I forget and at least we dont double up!!

Big boxes! I have a big box permanently in my boot for boots / first aid / grooming kit and a big box in the trailer for rugs. Seems to help keep the mess a bit tidier. Just try to put things back as you go along. I put things in in the order I plan to use them. Re: tack, I have all mine in a tack locker which is built into my Bateson! But you can buy those big ones on wheels, I think made by (and designed for) Ifor Williams? Or something like this:

I've got a Belstane bag which all my grooming kit, wash off stuff, plaiting and stud kit goes in.

All the rest of my stuff goes in a big plastic box with a lid, and then I have a spare Sainsbury's plastic box in the boot that all the dirties go in: saddlecloths, boots and my clothes so they can go straight home to the wash and everything else goes back into the Event box and stays in there until the next comp. Then I don't forget anything!
