Harley has an embarrassing problem! ;)

He has a sore on his testicle! (he has them because I may show him! Don't jump on me!)

It was clean yesterday just a little wet/weepy. So I just popped some cream on it before he went to bed last night. this morning it looked less angry, so popped a bit more cream on, but he licked it off, so I just left it. However he's been out for a run, and some dirt has stuck to it. Looks horrible.

When he licks it it looks a lot more angry.

I thought I'd salt water clean it, pop some more cream on tonight. If it looks bad in morning he'll be off to vets.

Any other hints or tips?

You could stick him in a lampshade until it's healed.
Also, try keeping him as busy/stimulated as possible. When I was having problems with B's skin I tried to keep him with me at all times and if he even looked like he was going to work at himself he was distracted with something.

It can become an obsession/habit and the more he hurts himself, the more he will lick it, and he could do himself a nasty injury :o and won't figure out that it is he that is causing the discomfort.
Has the vet seen it? I would get it checked out.

First question is-why is there the sore?
Secondly the only foolproof way imo is an elizabethan collar or one of those blow up (slightly less irritating to dogs) collars.

No vet hasn't seen it. He only did it yesterday afternoon. We were walking on a beach, he must have done it there.

I don't have a lampshade. I think it will be a vets trip. :(

ok, sounds like a scrape. If its moist it may need a/b. A collar will stop him licking and I wouldn't put cream on it really, but just let it heal unless its a layer or sudocrem or something to keep dirt off. Wash with cooled boiled water to get dirt off and keep as clean as possible.

The best way to stop him would be to chop the ball off:eek::rolleyes::D

lol! SOMEONE was going to say it!! ;0 ;)

I am think I will though.... As much as showing would be a bit of fun (I wouldn't be serious) he has started cocking his leg on EVERYTHING and it's driving me nuts! ha ha ha!!

Had vet trip this morning.

Was a male vet, so had LOADS of sympathy! ;)

He's on anti biotics and pain killers (it does look even more sore this today!) and a PINK lampshade on!! (if could be ANY worse!) He is deeply unimpressed, and is actually scared to death of it. He thinks he can't move! He has improved slightly, but I'm not going to take it off at all for 24 hrs (was told I could take it off for walks) so he gets used to it. He's really tired, but won't lay down with it on and has been swaying closing his eyes standing up! and the whining is driving me crazy!!

Nevermind. I do feel so sorry for him. He's having his tablets wrapped up in ham, so there's a silver lining in every cloud!
