Hi, We have a pony that we show in hand, basically he always gets a small rub on his coat (purely aesthetic) under the cantle pad area, His saddle has been checked and fitted by 3 different saddlers all of whom say its a good fit and I have tried two or three different makes, he currently is ridden in an ideal event.

The rubs

mean he cant be ridden a month or so before a big show. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best saddle pad or other way of curing it - ive tried all I know of!!

It's a bit of a problem at this time of year, loads of horses get similar rubs. I would try using a Bartl or Stephens sheepskin lined numnah. I think that may be soft enough not to damage his coat

Try using megatek to encourage regrowth and strengthen the hair - works wonderfully for my two and I know other forum members swear by it. That said, there are some who said it didn't work on their horse.

Thanks for everyones comments - got some good advice, apologies for the tardy thankyou but spent most of last week in bed with the worlds worst man flu and no girls you dont get it as bad as blokes before you start!
