Just gone out to the field to donovan, and his mane is badly clogged up with sticky buds! I have puled them out for now, but obviously they will be back! He isnt wearing a rug, so any ideas???

you can comb some simoniz (the tyre shine) through to reduce their ability to cling on. I sometimes do this with feathers.

Top the field! And if you can't do that then cover the mane with Mane and Tail spray so they slide out easier.

Sticky buds are really good for horses to eat, but a pain when they get in the mane and tail. I would get some show shine and spray it liberally through his mane. Makes it much easier to comb them out and they don't get so many stuck in in the first place.
