How do you stretch sheepskin?

As title really, I washed my lovely sheepskin girth sleeve but it has shrunk so now i cant get the girth back in it!

So, how can i stretch it? Its mainly the middle section which seems too small now, i have poked stuff down there but still can't fit the girth in!

Would re-washing it and putting the girth in beofre it dries work or will it shrink it more?

Any sectret sheepskin stretching potions out there?!

Sheepskin is essentially woolly leather, the leather has shrunk. Be really careful how you wash it, a very cool wash with leather wash liquid, or hand wash it, is the best bet.

Otherwise, turn it inside out and oil the leather reverse - if it's a knitted reverse then it's not sheepskin of course . You may be able to stretch it enough to get it back on the girth when the oil has soaked in.
