So when I got Leo he was FAT! through exercise and careful management of his food he is now at a much healthier weight, I need to get some muscle on him, build his topline etc, but how do you think he is looking? He did drop quite a bit this winter (my first winter with him) and I had to up his feed, so he did come out of winter a little leaner than I wanted.

The first picture is last August, and the bottom picture is beginning of May. (we don't have a load of grass still! :( )

Be nice :D

Cor he was a big lad!

Much better weightwise, could afford to lose a little bit more [I mean that, if he did end up dropping some condition, it wouldnt be the end of the world] and just work on topline :)

wasn't he just!! I ended up being used to seeing him that big and now he's lost the weight its weird seeing him skinnier!

thanks for your comments, I started to worry he was going the other way too much! :D

He looks loads better now, even without much top line. I would be interested to know if he goes better now he is leaner?

thanks :) he had fat pads and everything! Um, yeah he is more forward in the school (always been VERY forward out hacking), however I've been working on his schooling with my instructor getting him more off my leg, so its a bit difficult to put it down just to his weight loss :)

Well done you :D look at that massive difference... i hope you don't mind me saying but oh my god look at that crest !!!

I would say he could perhaps loose a little bit more ( i might be totally wrong im no expert) but you are clearly doing a brill job, he was lucky to find you :)

that's really nice of you to say, thank you :)

oh I know! I'm just glad it wasn't me that got him into that state in the first place! lol! although to be fair to his old owner he had only just come back into work after 7 months off! so he had REALLY enjoyed himself! lol!

You've done an excellent job you should be very proud of yourself! Agree with the fact that I wouldn't be worried if he did drop a fraction more. I'm currently on the mission to get my horse a member of the slim and trim gang!

Thanks lottiepony! It took a while but we got there :) it's not easy to get it off them, especially in the summer!
