Well I have posted up a couple times to keep people updated with how Twix is doing (although I think shes soon to be called precious, whenever I see her I call her my precious!)
These are not great pics but maybe you could give me an idea of whether her conformation looks okay? I am going to try and get some pictures of her stood on the yard tomorrow or sunday with my camera which has a better picture but for now I am wondering where there is anything I should worry about?
It appears to me that she ''leans'' back on her hind legs, I have to give her a tug on the leadrope to encourage her to take the weight off and stand straight, but it also looks like her pasterns are really sloped, like shes spent her life leaning back? Not something I have seen before so not sure whether it's just lack of exercise amongst other things OR whether its because she hasnt seen a farrier in so long that the huge amount of growth has given her no choice but to lean, however she CAN stand straight, its not like her feet being so long are preventing her from standing straight, but I can definately understand that obviousley if her feet havent been trimmed and have grown so long that it encourages her to lean back.
She does have a grass belly at the moment, but is healthy, vet was on the yard and took a once over but didn't convince me that she was totally correct so going to call the vet out for a proper visit and a full once over to check for any other potential deeper lying problems, although she is 100% sound, and has no skin conditions etc that I can see, her winter coat has come off lovely.
I am not sure how many pictures you can post before you have to post in the picture gallery so if this is too many I'd appreciate someone moving it? But would like as many people to comment and tell me how they think she is doing? If you want to see what she was like when I first got her, here is the link:
