1) a contusion - bruise of some kind
2) a tear to the skin - laceration
3) incision cut
4) Puncture wound - either to body or hoof
5) gunshot - bit tricky
6) graze

If my horse got bruised, there wasnt a lot i could do to treat it except go gentle on him if i had to touch him on a bruise. But he rarely got any other wounds!

Off the top of my head

1) a contusion - bruise of some kind - cold hose and arnica gel
2) a tear to the skin - laceration - clean gently but thoroughly with dilute antiseptic, apply purple spray or wound gel
3) incision cut - depends on size and position, either as above or ring vet for stitches
4) Puncture wound - either to body or hoof clean thoroughly , poultice and vet if I was worried foreign body might still be in there
5) gunshot - bit tricky - vet every time
6) graze - clean thoroughly with antiseptic and leave open, if was on stretchy skin area such as knee I put wound gel on to keep it supple. Would keep a good eye on it in case any gravel etc was embedded in there. would probably cold hose to as grazes often involve some bruising.

in my expereince they are very effective and can be cheeap brand and salt or animalintext, the latter can be used dry or wet etc and are very good for making sure deep or puncture wounds get properly cleaned.

Work well on use humans to

Oh right. Well my old horse never got any wounds really. He was an ex racer and there wasn't an odd bump on him at all. But he did bruise a bit but there wasn't too much i could do about that except touch him very gently.
