As above. My boy has mild sweet itch, body totally controlled by a rug but he's not great at keeping a mask on so he rubs his face/ears. Usual cream isn't working this year so I've ordered stinky stuff and carrier oil but not too sure how to apply. It says to mix together- do you do this in a bottle? Do you then apply with a sponge? Probably a stupid question but I've never used it before. Thanks 😊

I can't answer your question as I have never used the stuff, but in this heat do be very careful about putting any form of oil on a horse.

I learnt the hard way two years ago and am still struggling with the aftermath now. I put cow salve on sore white legs and the sun was so strong it burnt the hell out of the horse. The mess was quite unbelievable.

Flipping heck that's hot! 😳 We're actually quite warm today- about 20- but very overcast, so no actual sun. It's funny I love going abroad for the sun but I'm never quite prepared for it at home. Hope you're cooking down with a cider over ice.

I make mine up in a little plastic bowl and apply with a sponge. Be warned it really is stinky and so sticky it is really hard to get off your hands. I use it on my Shetland who has sweet itch on his mane. I have ended up hogging him so I can get it right in there and it has worked. Although I wouldn't use it if I had to take my horse out in public as it does make a bit of a mess. And as already mentioned, only apply it last thing at night as it can't be in direct sunlight

Brilliant thanks for that. His isn't too bad but just can't get it under control fully. I'll make sure to only put on in the evening, thanks both for your advice 😊

I put on a pair of those disposable gloves and scoop some of the stinky stuff out of the container and put it into a little tub with some of the oil in, then mix it up with my hands and put it straight on. Then take the gloves off and bin them and I just have one dirty pot and no mess :)

How to use Stinky Stuff? You dont is the simple answer. Save your pennies & buy cold pressed neem, which is exactly the same stuff but at half the price.
