My boy has turned into a complete loony!! He refuses to do anything in the school but canter, and if i say no, he has a temper tantrum which normally involves him jumping up and down on the spot with all four legs going in different directions!!

Someone shutting their car boot made him go into a mad broncing fit

and me grooming him while hes munching away at his haynet really annoys him, ears back, swishing tail and giving the stamping back foot warning!

He is normally such a sweet boy

Ive even had all the checks done, teeth, saddle and i got his back etc checked last night because i couldnt believe it was just hage that has changed him this much!! Its safe to say he will NOT be having hage again!!

Does it affect anyone elses horse?

Do you mean hayledge?
It does have more protein in it then hay and it does sometimes go to horses heads. Funny what it can do to them!
Strangely enough my easily fizzed TB can eat as much of it as she wants and it doesn't affect her

Ditto Damnation. Haylage has much higher protein levels than hay, and it is also very variable from farmer to farmer and bale to bale. Too much rich haylage can cause a host of nasty side effects! That said, none of my horses have ever reacted to it, but nutritional studies have shown that a high % of horses are actually intolerant of it
