I mean actually get out of bed, not when your alarm goes off ;). To do your horse(s) in the winter?

I am not too bad and get out of bed around 6.45 to feed at 7 - 7.15. I feed and turn out and then go back inside for my cup of tea and breakfast before going out again to muck out, ride and do lessons. I know many of you do your horses and even ride before work

Summer its when my daughter wakes me up! About 6am ish. In the winter I do them before my husband leaves to catch the 6am train, so both our alarms are going at 5am and I'm up the yard by 5.15...Yuk.

Alarm goes off at 6:15 and I'm normally out of bed by 6:25. Need to get out when my alarm goes off now, I need more time in the mornings for rug changes since the weather is pants :(

This morning it was 5am but usually about 5.45am in winter as i walk the dogs too so i walk them up to the yard which is nearly a mile from home. I get back home just before 7am then get ready to go to work.
Its a bit yuk now that it is dark in the morning!

Not so early this week as oh off work so if I leave the run ready he puts dogs out meaning I can go straight to work from stables getting changed in the feed room. Normally I nip home to change and put dogs out. Alarm 530 up and out at 6 yard by 615. Muck out 3 ride 1 for half hour, turn out 4 and home to change/dogs by 815! Hay nets and feed are evening jobs when I go up to bring in.

Well since during the winter I start work at 6.30 feeding the horses at work, on the days when I am morning duty for my horse I get up at 4.30 so I can drive the 16 mile round trip to the yard and back, do my horse (change rugs, turn out and muck out, do feeds ready for evening as my friend does it then) and my friends (change rugs and turn out) before getting back to work in time to feed the work horses! I work 7 days a week pretty much from October until January or February, with 14+ hour days during the TB sales period so I only do two mornings a week and tend to do the afternoon shifts, I share duties with my friend, she starts work at 8am so she does morning 5 days of the week!

5.45 every work day & at the yard 15 mins later & up at 6.45 on non work days, tho having a cuppa at home 1st & then getting to yard by 7.30 :)

Suits me - except this last week as am having to use torch as its a bit dark to check & poo-pick :D
They wont be in for another 6 weeks or so - if not longer as am hoping to make it till mid/late November. Then it will be mucho easier as will be able to see to muck out :)

My alarm goes off at 5.30am and I usually snooze once and get up at 5.45am. Muck out 8 and walk the dogs before being at work for 9am. In the summer they are out so I get up at the same time and ride two and walk dogs before work.

Oh, I am so spoilt! Horses are just outside bedroom window, so can topple out of bed and can turn out/muck out and have brekkie by 8am.

Up at 5.30am in the winter to muck out/turn out/prepare feeds. Also feed and turn out/rug up my friends 2 horses. I have to be back home before my husband catches his train to London (we have small children).
So home by 6.30 - get my children ready for school, do the school run and go to work.
I don't do the evening as my friend does the night shift :)

5.15. 3 to do, luckily at home & living out, so just have to separate to feed to avoid WW3.

Need to be in work clothes ready to leave for the train at 6.10 am.

A couple of weeks ago, I nearly went to work wearing a nice long skirt & jacket, teamed with... my Ariat riding trainers! Only noticed as I was getting into o/h's van, then had to run back in & quickly change.

With working shifts, and sharing a yard with my lovely mum, I tend to get up at about 8 when OH gets up for work if I'm working a late shift (1-9pm) so ride, feed etc before work, and mum will go in the evening to change rugs and hay/water. If I'm working an early shift (7am-3pm) them mum goes in the morning and I stop in on my way home to chuck some hay at them and maybe ride, depending on how tired I am or if I've had a rough day and need a good gallop to blow the cobwebs away :D having them out 24/7 makes it easier to be a bit flexible too :)

My alarm goes off at 5.30am and I usually snooze once and get up at 5.45am. Muck out 8 and walk the dogs before being at work for 9am. In the summer they are out so I get up at the same time and ride two and walk dogs before work.

Good grief  8 horses to muck out and a dog walk before work at 9?

Are you Inspector Gadget:confused:

4:30 now. I currently have 6 to feed, change rugs, turnout, muckout etc, and now I have the added stress of dealing with Willy's suspensory strain and tendon lesion. I admit that 2 days a week I cheat and delegate to a groom
In my defense afterwards I often work 6am-9pm, so I think I deserve the odd lie in!

Horse now lives out 24/7 and is at home, so I fall out of bed at about 8, feed and make sure he's got four legs, change rug if necessary then back in for breakkie. I work from home too, so no journey to work.

I really admire those of you who keep your horses a distance from home and work full time, I don't know how you cope.

Up and out by 6.15. Fortunately OH leaves the house the same time as me or I'd feel mighty hard done by. Never get back before 7.30pm either in winter. Remind me again why I do this?

Oooft! Dont know how you can all manage these early starts. I hate mornings so normally fall out of bed between 9am and 10am unless i have something special to do that day, horses are normally out by 11am. They get enough haylage to last them right through and they seem to prefer it. If i show up to chuck them out at 8am or something then they are not happy at all. lol

I work 2 evenings a week in a pub kitchen. Our YO gives out breckies and so I go p about 9ish either to ride or just turn and muck out. I leave everything done so my stable mate can get her in later.

How anyone can manage several and a full time job, god only knows! Amazing!

Wow you guys are hardcore. I get up at different times depending on what I do each day. This year all my uni lectures are at 10 at the earliest so I get lie ins :D however I am looking for a job and unsure what time I will likely be starting.
But this year I am going to try riding in the morning before turning out so will most likely be getting up at 7 if not earlier *sigh*
