Gyp and me once trotted at just over 20mph up hill on the road. The car infront of us stopped to tell me how fast I was going. I didn't plan on going that fast, he was panicing and he trots as fast as he can go when he panics.
i would love to know how fast i go! how can i find that out without having someone else to help me? is there something i can put on me or the pony to find out?
I don't know but I reckon it's about 0.1mph when being led in from field & 70mph when she hears food in a bucket or smells a new gelding on the yard
U_H we measured out the distance in a car on the track next to the field and measure each other on how fast we go. Not sure if you can get speed timing gadgets... but I want one now !!
dont know how fast my ex racer Jack went, but the first time i let him go for it, i was in heaven!! he lowered himself and flattened and just flew, we left the others standing, made my BMW sports seem no fun at all!!!
I don't think warmbloods have 5th gear, i know mine certainly doesn't!!! Can be quite problematic when going round xc and she insists on her poncy canter!!
No idea in terms of mph, but I galloped the little spotty mare (in my sig) last weekend for the first time and I was shocked (and delighted!) by how fast she can go. She's a little fat thing on stumpy legs but she just flew (uphill too!). I love her, she's the best confidence giver ever <3
