I am trying to buy for a client a 14.2hh first/second pony. Good budget and not too fussy about colour, type or sex. It musn't be ancient which is what she has at the moment:) I thought it was a buyers market...how wrong can I be!! We dont really want to travel far out of Cornwall, but the ones we have seen are far from what is described:(:(. Talk about caveat emptor which is why I am going with her. Ho hum we'll keep trying:):)

Have you checked out HorseQuest- some lovely ponies on there, especially in the 'Hunting Ponies' section! My sister just sit and drool over them :D

Agree with Lolo.

Also if you ring (a) local Pony Club DCs and (b) local Hunt Secretaries they may well know of some real gems who are about to come up for sale at the end of the hunting season.

I know of a cracker but he's only 13hh. They're definitely out there....

Hi a friend of mine runs Cholwell equestrian centre nr Launceston may be worth giving her a ring as she knows who is for sale or coming up for sale and she's really nice :D

Thanks for all your messages :) I will look at Horsequest and also bear Cholwell in mind. Its possible we might have found the right pony:) but the sellers are being 'funny'. Having said we'd have it subject to a vet they refused to take it off the market...:( as I said before I thought it was a buyers market, in this case it appears not. So keeping everything crossed...they refused to take a deposit too....strange folk.
