My ageing connemara cross has fur leg warmers!
After going to the beach, they were soaked, and still were 5 hours later when i brought him in.
Hes got his thermatex leg warmers on, but, as the beach is a regular ride have decided that they need to come off!!!

Any tips on how to do it, me thinking all these knobbly bits it will be difficult

many thanks xx

use clippers to take most hair off then trimmers to make neat job go with the hair and just follow the contours of the leg.

My bigger horse has hairy legs and my YM just runs the clippers up the backs to take off the worst of the feather - from hoof to knee or if really hairy from hoof to elbow. So his legs still stay warm with most of the hair on, but the worst is off the backs

I Fully clip my horse several times through the year and the legs are easy! Helps that he loves his legs being clipped too - it's the only time he stands still when being clipped! I just use the normal big liveryman clippers I use for the rest of him.

My horse doesn't have leg warmers on - he is in at night in the winter but that's - I don't think their legs get cold?!

When ours are super hairy, we cut a good proportion off with scissors, then with the clippers

.

Just remember to use the right blades (spot the person who bought fine blades and then tried to clip the cobs...
