How hard is it?

To find a sharer or loaner? It seems impossible, although he is gorgeous, bombproof, awesome stables / facilities / hacking etc with so much on-site help its a dream. It seems we are inundated with offers and calls to loan or buy if we move him but not "at present yard" - even though we are in "horsey central"!! Hoping the newly arrived nicer weather might encourage people out the house a bit......

I would imagine the horse is still stabled in Sussex (correct me if I'm wrong!)

In honesty I always found it was a bit of a hassle to find the ideal horse that was also located nearby, so often ignored any ads I found saying to be kept at present yard. I was also concerned that people would keep intervening (sp?) as they would think they know better as they've known the horse for a while, and the horse would never really feel like mine.

Ironically when I took my mare on full loan though I chose to keep her where she is and not once have I regretted that decision, as the YO knows her so well and has always been able to help with any issues I've encountered.

A friend of mine has managed to find two sharers for her horses now she is pregnant - took a few months though, and some interesting people came to try them!!  All worked out and they are staying at home.

I'm also struggling to find someone to part loan Bob and he is to stay at his current yard (for reasons I won't go into). The thing that p*sses me off is that the ads clearly state part loan approx 3 days a week TBA & must stay at current yard, so why do people get arsey with me when they ring and I won't entertain the idea of him being moved??? I've been totally upfront. Fair enough, try your luck and ask but why get narky when the answer is no???

He's only up for loan again as the girl who took him on in Jan when I was pregant is going back to her mums. Wish her mum would move nearer!!!
