Has anyone else been in this situation??? I am after a lead rein for my daughter. However, my sister has a say in the choice too as due to health reasons I cannot 'lead' my daughter so its a joint venture. The problem we have is that when we were younger we had a pony called Sparkling Vimto. She was a sec c strawberry roan and excelled at everything.
Vimmie is a hard act to follow, probably my sisters horse of a lifetime and my close second. Nothing we have seen so far is a patch on her.
Has anyone else had such a horse/pony that shaped your life so much that nothing compares??
I know it sounds OTT but the memories we have of her. Its just what I would want for my daughter!!

Yep my bombproof hacking pony, I love pickle to bits but nothing will ever live up to her, she could be taken out in groups of 10 people or more, everyone gallop off and she would wait to be asked to canter. Definetly nothing will live up to her.

Oh definatly!
Mickey, my pony of a lifetime!
He was the perfect pony for me, but maybe not for other little kids

(he wasn't a push and point pony).
But i had him for 5yrs, and brought him on from him not going off leadrein without bronking, and never went out hacking on his own, to a pony that i could jump 4ft on, and hack out for 6hours on with no problems.
And i just felt like i had, and still have, a special bond with him taht nothing can/could ever replace.

I had a superb 13.2hh, when I got too old (never outgrew her!), I had various horses but nothing quite what I wanted, then along came Sov, I know it is cheesy to say it but he is my dream horse, if I never own another horse it will be because nothing could fill his shoes.

Have to say , And Im sure you are all fed up with me going on about Tommy

but he is a one in a million little pony , who I can trust with both my son's . Tiarnan can hack him through the busiest of towns , and hes still at the tender age of 4 years old , ( my son is 7) .

They are hard to come by and when you get them , you can never part with them , thats the thing . People who have them tend to hang onto them .

Hope you find something x
