how high have you gone?

How should I get rid of his shedding coat for tomorrow for turnout?

Only been SJ for about a year and the instructor at college is letting us jump 1.20m (single jump only!!!) - at first I thought I may have to wear a nappy as soooo nervous, but getting better - Just out of interest what is the highest you have jumped ever.

will try and do a poll... see if it works.

If over 1.20m on poll please advise the height.

I would say that the more you do it, the lower it looks... If I have a break, the tape measure in my head seems to reset itself & suddenly the smallest jump looks enormous...

Catembi, completely agree with you, my current horse would see a 3ft jump and say, 'do I go under it?' I think it depends on the horse your on, and the trust you have in them. But boy does 2'6" look big to me now

No, a welsh cob, 15hh, he was a super star, our trainer seriously rated him for bsja but he was never fast enough, we did well at puisance though, he could manage a 4'3 spread easily and beat horses too I regret selling him, but I grew out of him, so bought the tb hoping to affiliate, didn't happen she see's 3ft and faints

so now 2'6 is an achievement

I could not imagine how it feels to come down from the top of the fence to land at that height still staying on the horses' back, lol.. My body would pro provide him with a soft cushioned landing, ha ha

I've jumped 1.20 during lessons whilst at uni.

On Chloe I've jumped 2 ft (just - she jumps in stages, front feet. Pause. Remembers she has 4 legs. Back legs move.)

Meg has jumped 2'9 so far - we're hoping to take her up to 1m but I don't think she'll manage much higher.

There is a 1.60m wall up in our school at the moment for the YO's son to practise with. I took meg to look at it, and neither of us could see over. Now that is scary, and way out of my league!

Nothing that spectacular ... just a 5 bar hanging metal gate directly onto the road on my 15hh'er

I was hoping the gate would stop him

I honestly do not know how high the biggest fence is I have jumped. Around 1.60m I think (the 5ft5 groom stood underneath it with clearance if that helps) - had to jump it to show the production company the horse could jump - we then had to jump a huge fence the same size in a wood and then jump a car LOL - was for a Pepsi commercial (could have been Coke) for Saudi Arabia - loads of my friends were in it LOL!

I have jumped 1.25m when I was 16 on my dad's old horse. The instructor jumped kept puting the jump up. I think I jumped about the same height on Glen as well but I was never measured. Mum had to stand behind the hedge!

My mum once jumped over her best friend's mum that must have been about 5'6 on her 14.2 when she was 15.

Weezy!!!!!!! Were you on valium at the time? Seriously....jump a car!!! no way.

Do you still jump? Could never imagine over 5 ft, think would need a seat belt to keep me in the saddle lol.

Bless Chloe sounds like she would be safe to hunt with!?!?

As long as she could go round/under or eat her through the fences she'd be super safe

I'm not sure that's quite the idea though
