I have a lovely natured but average WB gelding who I think I will be selling some time next year once my 4 year old is ready to get out an about a bit more.

He has done all RC activities and is a safe ride without being a total dope on a rope but I am wondering if it might be an idea to get him out to a few affiliated SJ comps to make him more appealing when it is time to sell.

Is it worth paying the costs of affiliation & the extra costs in entry fees to try and get some affiliated results or is it not really worth it given that he will be aimed at the general RC horse type home rather than affiliated riders anyway?

A few pounds of winnings BS may look good and the record will be there to see but it may mean he is no longer able to do some unaff. comps which could affect the new owner.
Most people look for a well produced allrounder, so I would get some good results at ODEs that run on BE venues these are a good way of proving his ability in all phases and should, if he does well, enhance his value and saleability.
