Further to my post where I was concerned about George's excess weight, I managed to get some pictures today and wondered how you thought he looked weight wise?

He goes out in a muzzle all the time and is only fed 1 scoop of hi-fi lite and a mug of local and his joint supplement.

I have to say I would find having something such a good doer difficult to manage! Pickle is still on two feeds a day :O and has hay once a day!
 
I haven't seen George for ages and only today noticed your photo's from NH last wknd. It's the best I've ever seen him look - you should be really proud.
 
He looks really well but if he was mine I wouldnt want any more weight on him. He has a little too much on his top line behind the saddle area which looks a little bit like excess fat. Just watch out for the second flush of grass that can make things worse.

He looks really well, could probably lose a little bit of weight but I don't think you have anything to worry about. He'd probably score a low 4 or a high 3 from looking at him. He's so shiny too, I wish I had a shiny horse

I am no expert, but he looks good to me, I think you are doing a great job. Its SO difficult getting the balance right in keeping their weight down, and yet making sure they have enough roughage going through their system.

Sorry, just thought of a question, is he out 24/7 with hius muzzle on or does he come in. If he comes in do you feed him soaked hay, how much?

Wouldn't want to see any more weight on him,but he's looking pretty good, certainly looks happy and healthy

I know he's at an angle, but that gutter down his back looked worrying. He has got an easy week this week after his lameness scare on Mon (thankfully he seems ok) then we get back to working him a bit harder when I ride!

I didn't word my original post very well, he is out for 10hrs a day in his muzzle, and when he's in he has 3 sections of hay that have been soaked all day.

PrincessSparkle I am convinced it is the lo-cal in his feed that makes him shine, plus my love of grooming!
