How is she looking?

Ok so quick update, we have been at new yard a week. She has settled in really well. She was schooled yesterday and hacked this morning. My friend rode first as shes very calm and confident and we wasn't sure how Ruby would be, she hasn't been ridden in a month because she was very naughty due to her being stressed. I'm pleased to say she was brilliantly behaved even with the yearlings charging around (you can see them in vid)

How does she look too you? I'm no expert but I think she looks alot better (she had a stifle problem) she feels fine too. But I will let you decide. Sorry for the chatting in video, my friend found out her Horse on loan is coming back to her. I hate my voice! Haha

You both look very happy together. My first thought on seeing the top photo is that the saddle looks rather long on your horse (there isn't much room from the cantle to the point of hip).

I really want your opinions onwether she looks lame or not. She hasn't been ridden in a month and hasn't been in the school in about 4 months (the school at the old yard was really deep and she really struggled, especially in trot)

I can't get video to work, but that's probably my ancient computers fault.

Ruby looks in nice round condition for a horse out of work through the winter. She hasn't got any muscle on her forearm or second thigh this will come with lots of roadwork, and if she can get her neck built up at the same time she will look super..

She's a nice short coupled horse, I hope her stifle problem is resolved. Personally I would stay out of the school for three months and just concentrate on hardening her and fittening her, you can do plenty transitions, leg yields etc out hacking.

Of course I'm assuming you have safe hacking both on and off road, it was so much easier in the old days (1980s) to do tons of roadwork, can be boring for rider if you're restricted though.

Take it slowly and reap the benefits this summer, nice horse.

The hacking where I am is all roadwork unfourtantly. But lots of hills to walk up and then trot as she is fitter. She looked lovely in Nov time, she was in regular work then. But due to so various things, she has only been ridden once a week since Nov and not at all for the last month.
