hi just wondering, my mare is a week late and is expanding daily, still not that bagged up yet but miserable as hell? whats the lastest anyone has had to wait??

i think there was one last year that went 4months over and foaled a normal healthy foal.
they can go 4 weeks over or 2 weeks before and its quite normal.
my mare was only 6 days off her predicted(she held off due to snowy cold weather i think)

just been to see her, it looks like something out of alien, foal looked like he/she was having a right party. shame mum wasn't enjoying it as much?

Well my friends will be 3 weeks over on Weds. Mare hasnt bagged up much at all but has changed shape a bit and dropped away on her bum. Dont think she will have it in the next few days tho.

My mare tho has the BIGGEST boobies ever and looks massive and she isnt due till 19th July.

didnt know when ours was due we just new it was in june and my sec d mare had a fill black with 3 white socks about 3 today now just waiting for the other one now should be any day.

The thing is horses don't actually have a due date as such as it can range from 320 days to 365 days, the due date being 340 days, which is the average.

Here are 2 good articles for you to read, they're very interesting-

Claire; at this stage, you just have to hope that Teazle isn't 15 days late and Bramble isn't bang on time ....... otherwise you will have your hands full LOL!!

By the way, my little mare hung on for 15 days over the average date.

Funny you say that cos we have just been discussing whether Glenda is waiting for Millie. Glenda is now 3 weeks over and not looking anywhere NEAR ready and Millie is at day 321 and looks like she could drop any day.

Typical as we built a new foaling stable with CCTV etc in it and expected them BOTH to use it - as there was 6 weeks difference. Poor Millie may have to foal in the field as I dont want to put her in a smaller stable.
