How long after spraying a field is it safe to graze?

Our non horsey yard owner has decided to get the fields sprayed. He has told me the horses can't graze on them for 7 days however when I googled it the general census was 14 days.

I have no idea what chemicals/pesticides/weed killer he is using so can only take his word on it. I am a tad concerned as he has no knowledge of horses and livestock whatsoever. Is it possible that's the is only 7 days or has he made a mistake?

It depends on the weedkiller used. Grazon is safe after 7 days.

I usually leave it for 2 weeks if possible...whatever the weed killer...I’m over cautious though!

Some are 7 days, some 14 days. I always leave a week longer than recommended. If the field has ragwort you need to wait for that to die off completely, which will take quite a while.
