How long do forage blocks stay good for

I have some forage blocks left over which I bought in June and am wondering if they are still okay to feed. They do not smell mouldy

Is there a best before date on them? I'm firmly in the "if in doubt, chuck it out" camp, but if in (or a little over) date and they smell good, I'd give it a go and make sure they're actually interested in it.

Still wrapped? Definitely fine

If unwrapped then depends if they're soggy

There is no date but they aren’t soggy and I fed a little soaked earlier and they are totally fine

As long as they are not mouldy they will be fine .

Yep! Same here. I'm still working through a bag from last year. They've been stored in a cool dry place and smell fine. Horse says they taste fine too.

When they are mouldy they look mouldy you can’t miss it .

I'd treat them like hay, if they look and smell good then feed.
