I usally take my boy out about 5 times a week for about 45 minutes, we only hack or ride in the field, sometimes more sometimes less but I have noticed other people ride for a lot longer and most ride for about 2 hours a day.

He is 10, 16.2hh and is quite a high strung horse.

when my oldie was fit we usually did 45-60 minutes in the school a few times a week. hacking could be up to 2hrs depending on where we went. :)

Depends what I'm doing really. Hack at wkend for 2-3 hours, in the week maybe 1hr to 1& 1/2. Usually school on hacks but if doing it in the field usually 45 mins but not intensive due to injury. Daughters the same due to being young. Jumping, mine does an hour, but half of that is with daughter (age 7) so not very big. Plus horse loves it & nowadays jumps well under the level its work. Her pony does 15 mins jumping plus 10 mins warm up, reasonably intense but for her just right mentally to progress.

When we school our horses they only do 20 -30 mins max after a walk start for 10 mins. Hacking tends to be anything from 30 mins to just over the hour depending which route we take! As long as you and your horse is happy I don't think it matters and if some people want to ride for hours then I bet they don't do it everyday.
