Manners?
I ask because our liveries horses are a bit ill mannered, one in particular dragged our livery over and trampled her at the weekend, she is ok thankfully but quite bruised. This happened because she was holding one of the horses so it could watch the other one whilst the other one was being ridden.
These are the two horses that go everywhere and do everything together because liveries are not brave enough to separate them it seems.
One of them is getting the better of one of our liveries (A) at the moment, A asked me to get on him on Friday as he was misbehaving with A. Running backwards and threatening to rear and spinning his bum round. A sharp smack and a boot from me when he tried it on twice and he just got on with it and didn't bother trying again after that.
This is the same one that trampled A on Sunday. So don't think A will be riding him for a while.... B and i might offer to do this horse for a week or two see if we can sort out his manners and get him to behave properly, currently both horses are lead to and from the field in bridles because they won't lead nicely for their owners.
Now, we would immediately make sure the horses weren't doing everything together as i think this is adding to their bad manners really....?
A is talking about selling him and i think this would be a shame really as he is a nice horse for her but just seems to have picked up a few bad habits at the moment and is trying it on. So would like to be able to get them back to how they were a few months ago!
If we were to sort this horse out and A to go back to riding him etc do you think he would stay reasonably mannered or do you think he would go back to taking the P like he is at the moment with them?
