how long does it take for the pot-bellied appearance to go if you buy a foal who probably has not been wormed before?
he has been wormed but should he be dosed again or wait till the recommended interval?

How old is he? I wormed a weanling I bought weekly for three weeks - she had never been wormed before and the first dose produced what looked like Spagetti and meatballs she had so many roundworm. She handled it very well and is now a strapping 5yr old.

Eqvalan is what i bought.he is about 10 months old.he is on better grazing since we got him 2 weeks ago and his scurfyness is going.

yes, agree, but will it matter that it is close to the other worming time?

I'd worm for encysted small redworm so either Panacur 5 day, or Equest (moxidectin).
Then I'd do the tapeworm - and I'd probably opt for Pyratape or Strongid P double dose.

Eqvalan will kill the adult stages of the small redworm, but isn't so great with the larval stages.
Then worm normally from then on.

no such luck!!
can no-one invent one?

how long ago was he done with the equlan? if it was over 4 weeks a go go a head and use a combi wormer such as equest pramox if it was less than that use panucar guard five day course and an equitape for the tapeworms you may want to give him a bit of pink powder so all thw worms and wormers dont upset his micro flora in is belly!
