Mine always travel tacked up, don't think I would b able to tack them up at meet!, think the furshest is possibly an hour and a half? I'll normally take off their bridles on way back tho unless a close meet, but not normally their saddles, unless it is quite a far meet and they are dry, did the other day as knew it would be a while until horse was back as dropping off another in totally different direction. Sometimes with my spotty one I'll put her bridle when we get there, as she will get rubbed by her bridle and bit, so if it's fairly rubbed, I'll leave it off for as long as poss!

Thanks you 2, much appreciated :)

I usually always untack to come home, tho each one I've taken out has just got used to going in tack as its 1 thing less to forget ;) and some have been a bit evil about being helpful to be tacked up at a meet ;)

Mind you, most trips have been no more than 45mins tops.

Was just trying to figure out whether to do the usual for a trip for next month which is about 1.5 hrs to get there.

I never travel with the saddle on, and I only travel with the bridle if it's less than 20 minute journey. I also untack to come home.

Just preference really - I'd hate to think that in the event of an accident having tack on made things worse, or that he got caught up on anything.

I also travel up to an hour and a half with all tack on, although I keep the noseband loose, as I like to have it very tight, and it wouldn't be nice to travel him with it done up that tight! Then all tack off for coming home.
