So my new horse came in from the field 2 weeks ago with a 1cm wound on his pastern. Not deep and not much blood (was dry when I brought him in).
To cut a long story short for the past 2 weeks I've been keeping it clean and hoping it'll heal, there's not been any heat or swelling and horse just a little sore but not hopping lame.
Got vet out yesterday as it had been 15 days since he cut himself and wound still open and she's hibi-scrubbed and given me antibiotics and flamazine.
Anyone had any experiences with similar wounds and know how long they take to heal roughly? Horse on 2nd week of box rest and not overly happy with the rest of the DIY yard out in the field!
