Following on from this post about a riding hat I bought-
http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=367548

I rang the company today who said that they haven't yet refunded the item, yet they received it back on April 17th. Apparently it's in a pile for refunds and they do, to quote the woman on the phone "a few a week"... Asked them to do it today and they can't- there's others in the pile that have been waiting longer. She said the terms and conditions on the website state refunds can take 30 days but there is nothing on the site that actually states that aside from the item must be returned in 30 days.

I'm now paying interest on a credit card that I cannot pay off because the refund hasn't come back in, woman on phone said she would tell the returns dept I've rung up but that it still won't go through any quicker, so what now?

Threaten to report them to trading standards... Watchdog!

I'd maybe call CAB. Doing a "few a week" is ridiculous! they can't sit on your money like that. I would make the most ENORMOUS stink! I've never heard of anything so ridiculous!

They told me all TS would do is say that their website states 30days for a refund, but I can't find anywhere on there that does? Also I ordered and paid over the phone and wasn't told about the 30 day rule then.

Getting a bit peeved now... desperately need the money and £90 to me is a month's living expenses, not to mention the interest I'm now paying!! :(

Tell them that then, and go to TS anyway. They are just trying to put you off reporting them IMO - shysters! Hate bad customer service:mad:

Yes, your credit card can do a chargeback on the payment for you.

Also speak to Trading Standards as they can speak to them on your behalf.

If you can find the companies details, email their CEO or top man and complain - thats what I deal with every day at work lol
