How long for injection holes to heal?

One of ponies had her hocks injected today but she will not keep the dressings on. She kept them on for about 5 hours and is now rubbing them off on the wall. I’ve replaced once but they were off again in ten minutes…I’m a good bandager but you can’t really stop them just scraping and scraping!
Will the holes be closed over by now? They were done at 2pm.
 
Yes again don't worry. My vet said they close almost instantly and if bandages came off don't worry. If they stay on then you can take them off the next day.
 
Mine told me they only needed to stay on for the journey home, less than an hour. I hope they work Patterdale.

Thank you. They usually work well in this pony, but they’re working for less time each time. She is 17 and really enjoys her work, plan this time is to get her comfy, look out for a new pony, and find her a loan home with a younger rider wanting an experienced pony to start doing x pole courses etc.
I’m not looking forward to this weeks vet bill that’s for sure!!
 
My horse had his hock done in April, no bandages after. Just had to stay in for the rest of the day and overnight. Hasn’t had bandages any time he’s had it injected at the yard.
 
There's a vet round here who does mostly polo ponies, and he doesn't bandage at all after joint injections. Gave me the willies when he did a horse here, but said horse was absolutely fine!
 
A Vet once told me the needle holes are so tiny they pretty much heal up straight away but they bandage them as a precaution and say remove them after a few hours. I also usually get told to do 24 hours box rest following the injections and then turn out as usual. I try to keep the clipped areas on the hocks clean for a couple of days anyway (really easy as it’s just bare skin) but this is more for my own peace of mind rather than it’s what should be done.
 
My pony had her hocks injected in March, no bandages after. Just kept in her shelter and small "garden" paddock for 24 hours but that was more for lami risk than keeping them clean.
