My greedy NF has been sticking his head through the wooden fence to reach grass on the other side - within 2 days he's removed a 3 inch section on mane down to the skin and now looks like he's got sweet itch and seems quite sore so I've bought some fence posts and the fence line is now electrified so he can no longer manage it! Any ideas how long it will take to get some degree of mane back? Just so I can take him competing without him looking neglected?

My boys manes were rubbed out in winter by their full neck rugs - only now are they at pulled length! Have had to pull both theirs so they don't look so patchy, but I think like people, their hair grows faster when the UV levels are higher.

Oh dear! Not looking good then- seeing as he's a mountain and moorland and the rest of his mane is half way down his neck! He looks such a state!!

Mine lose bits of their manes over the winter and they normally grow back by about mid July. I normally use Megatek on them, but have always been sceptical as to whether it works or not. This year I haven't use it so much and it's taken their manes a lot longer to grow back so I'm now pretty sure it does make a difference. It's not massively expensive (I haven't bought any for 3 years and think it was about £10) and it does last a long time as you can mix it with water and use it in a spray bottle.
