Think i'm getting a bit jealous of all the people on our yard who have horses with gorgeous unpulled tails.... I want Dan to have one!

But, he had his tail pulled when I bought him, and so when it started to go bottle-brush-y I tried pulling it - even one hair at a time it bled o.o he didn't mind, but I decided to trim the sides with scissors instead. It looks ok but... I don't know. I'd love him to have a lovely, full tail but he's so narrow, I'm not sure if it would suit him?

If I DO let it grow, how long should it take to look 'normal'??

Thanks,
Sol x.

How long have you had him/left it for?
My big girl was hogged, legs clipped and tail pulled last year, and her tail has taken about 3 months to grow through to an okish sort of length, it will be another few months yet before its right though - its having the will powerr to leave it when he looks like a startled hedgehog that is the problem though! x

Wonderful.... and it'll probably grow out and I'll hate it! :p
It's only been a few weeks... hmm. Ah well.... we'll see how long it takes before I get sick of it!

Pulled tails are much smarter! If he bleeds when you pull it, then get a smart tails thinner, really easy to use and does the job really quickly too. The horse won't even no you've done it and it will look ten x better than done with scissors or clippers.
