My horse has been lame for 10 weeks now. she has improved alot and last week seemed sound. I've not dared even sit on her untill the vet says so though. She's had shed loads of investigations and nothing apart from a enlarged suspensory ligament, no rupture or tear , just enlarged.
It was dark tonight but she seemed a bit unlevel tonight which makes me worry.
So how long should this take to settle. I'm a bit fed up of being grounded now.

she had two weeks box rest and bute, followed by a weeks box rest, four days at leahurst, liverpool, where they nerve blocked at fetlock with improvement, but couldn't do into the joint as she wouldn't allow it. x-rays show slight downward rotation of pedal bone which they said should correct with wedges. they uss and said the suspensory ligament was enlarged - no damage that could be seen.
she had a further two weeks of bute and box rest, two weeks of walking in hand and now is on two hours turn out a day.
she looks sound most days but today for example looked uneven, not neciserily unsound though.

If in doubt give it a lot of time and then double it for luck. Sorry, but it'll take how long it'll take and they're all different, there are no hard and fast rules, it's a case of patience; put them back into work before it's totally recovered, even walking work and you risk breaking it down completely IME.

My friends horse went lame for no apprent reason. She had the vet out to him many times and they still couldnt tell her what was wrong. She put him on loan as a companion but she found out they had passed him onto meat man! so she took him back. It took 3 years of rest but he became sound and she was due to bring him back into work after christmas until he unfortunatly had to be PTS this week after breaking his leg :(

Did they really say to correct the rotation of p3 with wedges?

Does she land heel first or toe first on flat ground?
