How long will a Leisure battery last with 12v strip lights?

Am thinking of getting a couple of 12V strip lights to run in my field shelter off a heavy duty Robinsons Leisure battery (it's about the size of a medium sized car battery) (the strip lights are approx 2ft long if that makes any difference?)

Does anyone know if I were to use the lights for 30 mins per day, how long approx the battery would last in between charges?

Thanks

This is difficult to say. A leisure battery is measured in 'amp hours' which tells you the power of the batters. You need to know the ampsof your 12 volt strip lights plus the Amp hr of your battery & then you will be able to work out how long they will run for. The actual physical size of the battery has little to do with the power of the batters. The same size casing is used for a 65 Amp Hr as an 85Amp Hr

About 2 - 3 Weeks. If you haven't bought the battery yet go to your local caravan shop as they will probably be cheaper than Robinsons. Also the bigger the battery the longer it lasts.

In my Lorry if I went away to a 7 day show and kept my lights on most of the night and watched TV, charged my mobile - it would still be going at the end of the week.

Thanks all

Will look on my existing Robinsons battery to see if it gives me the amps, and also call Towsure - whose catalogue I've seen the strip lights in to see if they can tell.

Once I've got the battery down to the field shelter in the winter, it's awkward to wheel barrow it back up to the lane as the barrow gets stuck in the mud - and way too heavy to carry, so just trying to work out what I can get away with doing....

I used to alternate 2 batteries (same ones you describe) to run my electric fence. Now I plug it into a small solar panel (cheap from maplin) and it's never run low on charge and that was over a yr ago. Even works on cloudy days. pm if you need more help.
