How long would you "turn away" for?

After backing/breaking?? And in what conditions, I.E. stabled, roughed off in field, both. Just having a chat about it and wondered what you all thought x

we turned away our mare over the winter months and brought her back into work begining of the new year. she was stabled and night and out in the day.

I'm planning on turning my youngster away over the winter months. She will be out as much as possible but stables if the weather gets too bad.

Yes i thought so too, horse probably be broken august time, and then turned out/stabled (weather permitting) probably until feb time.
