How long would you wait??

I sold one of my horses the day before I went on holiday. Woman left £100 deposit and arranged for it to be vetted when I came back. Horsey was vetted and passed yesterday. Phoned woman to tell her this, got text back saying she'd phone me to sort out the details later. No phonecall.

I've texted her today asking for confirmation today of when horse will be collected etc. As yet, no reply.

I've had literally dozens of phone calls about this horse and am now a bit worried that she's not going to follow through - how long should I give her before telling her the horse is going back on the open market & she's lost her deposit?

Did you have anything in writing with regards to the deposit? I would leave her a message saying that she has forty eight hours to get in touch with you, and after that you will put the horse back on the market.

Gave her a receipt which said deposit was only refundable if horse failed vet.

Can't understand why she's gone to all the hassle of having it vetted etc if she's not going to buy it

I would text (or email would be better) and say you need to know by Thursday, if no reply, email, text or phone her again tomorrow and say if you haven't heard from her by Thursday she will lose her deposit as you have another person interested.

Ring her and tell her horse goes back on the market at 10.00am tomorrow if she has not rung you by 9.00pm tonight.

All sorted! Transporter organised and she's just gone to transfer the money to my bank account
