hello peeps

Looking for help/info.

Ok my mare has been off work for over 2 months due to her having a holiday no illness or lameness nowt like that.

i have just started bringing her back in to work last tuesday have only ridden her 2 times due to her throwing a shoe and was finding it sore with out shoe on.

Anyhoo how long will i need to wait till i can pop her over a jump in her schooling?

depends on how fit she was prior to holiday! i would do 4 weeks road work first 2 in walk and next 2 in walk trot, then slowly introduce canter, schooling and bending, then ready for pole work and a few little pops over jumps (at about 6 weeks) then go from there

It differs from horse to horse, so you might have to change it if you feel she isn't coping well. I wouldn't quicken the process up though even if she looks like she is taking to it well.
