It depends on the quality and how much you wear them.
I have some mountain horse boots and they lasted a year before the zip went on them and then they got a bit leaky! But I have also got some short boots (Dublin i think) and some chaps and they have lasted me 5 years and still going strong.

depends how much you wear and clean them! I tend to wear joddy boots and leather gaiters - the boots last about 9 months with daily wear (not all day) and minimal cleaning but my competition ones haven't worn out at all yet.

It depends on the quality boots and how often you wear and clean them. My Ariat short boots have lasted 2 years having been worn every day and only cleaned for shows, they now have huge holes in them and although I still wear them at the yard I have bought a new pair for competing, they have lasted really well though. I used to have long rubber boots and went through a pair about every 3 months. Never had long leather boots so don't know how long they last.

my first pair of long leather boots were 90 - they were some regent ones.
i got them 4 years ago for riding in, looked after them well (cleaning any muck off etc)

and occassionally polished them.
then last year i bought some petrie ones for 160 and now use these for shows as the old ones were slightly tatty.

for general riding i either wear my ariat grasmeres

or muckers and chaps.
