I use the big rolls of hay/haylage and I get between 50 and 55 haynets from each which lasts my three horses around 14 days.

when using small bale hay 1 bale will last 2 arab and arab x 1 1/2 days and a big square of haylage lasts my 5 horses 3x15h & 2x16.3 about 5 days.

some eat more than others though and some bales are heavier than others so its a bit of a ruff figure.

Chancer my 15 hand gypsy cob eats about 1/2 small bale a day, Farra, our 17 hand clydesdale eats about 3/4 of a bale.

They have hay bars so I just put in a bale every other day for Chancer and top up Farra as needed.

They are in overnight from 4 - 9 next day and three days a week there is no t/o.

Mine get two fibre based feeds, so are mainly on ad lib hay for their grub.

I have 4 neddies, the yearling, 2yo and my mare eat a bale a day between them - pretty much a 3rd each. The pony has small bale haylege, and I usually feed a bale of haylege over the week, mixed in with some hay. The pony usualy has 1 section of haylege and 1 section of hay a day - but she has a hay bar, so I always make sure that there is hay in the bottom of her haybar - so she isn't without.

2 bales a week for 15.3 eventer. Bales are pretty heavy and have daily turnout. Might use an extra 1/2 bale a week when the grass has really gone in Jan/feb.

I've only got 1 and she gets roughly 1/4 bale of hay and 1/4 small bale of haylage mixed together each day. She gets a fair bit more than this if she's not out during the day though.

Four a week atm for one 16.2hh TB (not in work) who is in from 3pm till 7am. He gets around half a bale per night and then is being turned out with a section in the mornings.

I've got a 17hh WB with a 5 month old foal at foot, a 16hh ISH currently in foal, a 13.2hh retired welsh pony, and a small donkey.
They get through 3 good size bales of hay per day between them, fed on an adlib basis.
When they go on to haylage instead (December to March), they get through one very large bale (300kg) every 5 days.

They are all in at night and out during the day with a hard feed am & pm.

Hope that helps

I have 2 horses and 3 small ponies. All but 2 of the ponies live out 24/7. I use standard square bales (ie. not the huge ones) and get through probably 1 1/2 bales a day or 2 when nasty weather. So I guess usually 10 1/2 bales a week.

They are on adlib so it depends how they feel, how cold it is etc. If they finish it all then I put more in the next night than I did the last night etc.

Lanky, 17.3hh WB, gets through anything from 5-7 bales a week. George, 15hh welsh cob, gets through about 5 a week. I am not yet feeding hay in the field.
