before making your decision on which one you want to move to?

I saw three today, but only found one to be really suitable. I really really liked the place, and although it was much smaller than MEF, the length of turnout they get it better, the YO is very nice and has even offered to pick me up and drop me off at the station each time I come down - VERY generous!! And it just seems a bit more cosy than the yard I'm currently at. I would move there in a flash, but Mum is not so convinced - She wants me to look at more yards, but only because she isn't convinced about this yard....I am not in a huge rush, but would like to move soon as although it s brilliant up there, the livery bill is becoming absolutely ridiculous and it is now becoming an 1hr and a half journey one way..

So, what would you do in my situation? I know there are quite a few yards in the area that I'm looking at, but tbh I think they will either be out of our price range or not have the facilities we want. (is a school asking too much, considering I would only get to go on weekends and holidays so don't have a huge amount of time to box up and hire one etc...)

Really would like to move there but something is holding me back...

Not sure whether it is mum's uncertainty about it, or the fact that it would be a bit of a jump down from my current yard...

Anyway, opinions/advice MORE than welcome

Difficult one. If it was me I think I would try to look at a few more, as you don't sound 100% convinced about this one. Good luck in finding the right place, wherever that may be.

Dont move on the yard owner say so that she will give you lifts as things like this often wear thin.

Im a firm believer in gut instinct and if theres something holding you back then there must be a reason for it.

I had this last year and despite about 3 trips to the yard i still didnt feel convinced despite it tickingall the right boxes. At the end of last summer i got to move to the yard with all my friends on after a 3 year wait.

Id go back and ask to meet the others and maybe walk about and have a chat and discreetly ask the liveries about how they like it there etc.

Dont rush if your not sure.

Why isnt your mum convinced? What is it she's not sure about? I wonder whether you are looking at it through rose coloured spectacles and she is seeing the other side of the coin! If we knew why your mum wasnt sure we might be able to help a bit more.
