My 16.2hh TB requires sedaline to be clipped, he used to have ACP, three tablets and this made him just about bearable to do. However I am a bit confused as to what the equivalent doseage of sedaline gel is? The vet said 7 ml would be approprate but that seems an awful lot having read others posts on here? I might be wrong but could just do with some clarification on it! Thank you! xx

i gave my 17.1 Tb 5ml of sedalin to turn out after box rest and he was basically on the floor. he walked past a bonfire with a canister on which exploded as we were level with it and didnt twitch a muscle, normally he would have exploded. 7mg is alot, i would personally give him 3 segments of the tube and see how he is, you can always add more but never reduce it if he ends on the floor!!

Sedalin is pretty weak stuff. Give him the 7ml that the vet suggested. They often say 4ml, but it just means that 7ml will keep him relaxed for a longer period of time. Giving him more of the drug won't actually make him more dopey.

also i meant to say it depends on the dosage of your acps? I used to get 25mg ones but about a yr ago i was only able to get 10mg ones, which if you only gave 3 tablets of 10ml i think 3-5g of the sedalin should do it. Also some horses have effects differently, my old boy a whole tube of sedalin didnt touch but then he also had to have 8acp(25mg) ones to clip and 15(10mg) when it changed.

I give my 15.2 cob two tubes of sedalin and that makes him just bar able to clip his legs. Would never give more than three acp as after talking to the vet she said after three acp they are at a high risk of having a heart attack.

I clipped my mare yesterday and I gave her 10ml minus what was spat over me she is 500Kgs. I than left her for 1 hour and she was fine to clip just nicely chilled.
