Just a random question for you all.

I never had to where i had them before but did at yards that i worked. I now find myself quite excited as i have enough poo to build my own heap. Yes, I know - wierd!

Anyway, this got me wondering if i am the only wierdo or if anyone else does it too?

I don't mean stacking up against walls, i mean proper free-standing with steps and the lark.

Well I know you said "I don't mean stacking up against walls" but both at home and at work we put our muckheaps in trailers. At work we have to stack it and step it which is actually a pain in the backside as we have to chuck it upwards. At home we tip our muck down into the trailer, and once it gets really full I love climbing in and making artwork from it (nothing better than a nicely stacked and stepped muckheap! Apart from a non-exsistent muckheap perhaps...!)
Yes, I am wierd!

I have an obsession with building muck heaps! I'm sometimes tempted to contact the Tate Gallery and say I've got a fab piece of modern art!
It stems from my childhood when I read "you can tell the worth of your groom from the muckheap"!!!

Two of my liveries seem to like building muck heaps aswell, so youre not alone! They build steps, then fill them in and build more! It saves me doing tho! I dont mind on a cold day, warms the old feet up! lol!

I used to layer my muck heap - until I got chickens

now I don't bother as anything I 'arrange' they 'redesign' very quickly .......but the eggs taste nice :-))

Reynold, I know what you mean about chickens.......it's a waste of time having a tidy muckheap with them about isn't it?

My muck goes in the trailer then carted to a clearing in the woods and dumped, the wild turkeys and squirrels (oddly enough) do an excellent job of spreading it. We have a neighbouring farmer who comes along and helps himself to what is left of the heap periodically.
