Or similar?

Am thinking we should get one really... we have anything from 1 to 6 dogs around the yard at any time and i think at least 2 of them would bite intruders/trespassers....

Can you get them from places like B&Q?

I have a "Dogs Running Free" sign. You have to be careful with wording on signs I think, if you have Beware of the Dog, it can be seen as admitting you have a dangerous dog, or so I have been told.

I have a small sign on my front gate saying "beware - dogs running free" or something like that, God, I see it everyday but can't remember exactly what it says! You can get them from most pet shops. Also had a Farmkey sign on both gates saying these horses are freezemarked but they just faded away to a plain white sign so took them down.

I have heard that too - but I asked my OH - who is a barrister and he says he can't really see how that would work. He also pointed out that they wouldn't be sold everywhere if that was the case...

Funnily enough i was asking as we went through occupiers liability and your liability to trespassers at my course on Tuesday!

I can see how that would work i guess. Wonder what other variations there are?!

im afraid its true, someone i used to live with had beware of the dogs, and when they had a visit from a copper friend he told them to get rid of it as it is seen that you advertiseing you have dangerous dogs which in turn they could take them away if they feel it is true, its not a well known fact, you would be much better saying dogs running free.

I have "beware staffordshire bull terriers about" on the gate! Should i take that down? I also have "dogs running free on the front door inside the two gates. Im a bit worried now. Surely its better to have a beware sign IMO as this makes people think twice instead of once and then the dogs get out!!! It does stop Cold callers though which is great!

I have heard the admitting to having a potentially dangerous dog...when u have a beware sign

I cant even remember who told me now....not sure if its true....its sort of the same for mind that step...or summit....admitting that the step is a hazard, so if someone falls and breaks their neck....u basically are pointing out that this could happen ...and instead of doing something about it ...u put a sign up, as oppposed to saying"well its never happened before...maybe the person is clumsy....lol

.....Does any of this make any sense..LMAO...I think not

I haven't got a sign up cos I was worried about attracting dog thieves, but I think their presence is given away by the manic woofing the moment anyone dares set foot in the drive

When kids jumped into our garden to get a ball, my dog cornered them, ok the kids were teenagers and should have known better.

Parents called the police saying my dog was a danger. Dog warden got involved and finally they seen it as the kids as trespassing. However they both told me to get a 'Beware of the dog' sign. They said if someone did come into the yard and were bite, that the sign would save me.

We have 2 GSD, 1 Lab and a Bassett who RULES THE ROOST! We have Beware Guard Dog signs and Dogs Running Free signs at the yard, and Guard Dog signs at home. Have to say that they are all pussies! unless another dog comes into the equation! I NEED THE DOG WHISPERER TO COME SEE ME!

We have a 'Beware of the Dog' sign on our front gate because we have two rather protective labradors! Even when the dogs are growling, barking and showing their teeth, strangers have been known to lean over the gate and fuss them!
