I am on call (work in criminal defence and am a police station rep, so if someone gets arrested, and they request legal representation and I am on call, I get sent out) today so I can't go to the yard because:

a) I'll smell lol - I can never stay clean at the yard!
b) have barely any signal up there so can't go in case I don't get a call when someone tries to get me - will be in BIG trouble if that happens

Basically, when I am on call, I sit at home doing all the stuff I put off doing the rest of the time thinking about the time I could be spending with my horse!

Who else won't be seeing their horse(s) and why?

Being on call sucks. Although I am now drinking a cup of hot chocolate and watching Grand Prix :D

Do you get paid for it? If you do I'll swap with you and you can visit my horses and I'll stay in and watch GP. I have a jumping lesson at four so could be an ok deal for you, depending on how you like jumping! :)

O and go Jenson!

I won't either my friend has been on holiday for a week and I've been doing her horse so she's doing mine today! So I can at least stay warm, dry and do not have to go out in the gale force winds we have at the moment!

I only get paid if I get sent out to do a job; I don't get any extra pay for sitting indoors if I don't get sent out. I really would be quids in otherwise! I don't get a huge amount more for doing it and get taxed on it too so...

To be honest it isn't very often that I get to mooch around at home, so I am quite enjoying it at the moment...still not doing the stuff I put off the rest of the time!!

Before anyone does say something; Bailey is on part livery so he is looked after in my absence!

I'm not :( I had a driving lesson earlier then I'm going to Bristol to see my friend whose about to have heart surgery! So no time for the poor boy today but he gets my mum doing him and she gives him sweeties so he's happy :)

I finished work at 4.30am (i'm a duty manager of a nightclub), and i was so wired i didnt get to sleep until 6.30am.... woke up at 1pm, half the day wasted (and a gorgeous day at that - i should be taking him down to the beach for a gallop!!) absolutely no energy to do anything, the bloke can do the washing up for a change!

I'll be going up later this afternoon - thankfully they're still turned out 24/7, and the YM checks them all first thing in the morning. But gonna be much of the same the next 2 weeks.... bloody freshers!

Me! :( Confined to indoors with bronchitis......:(:( Blergh!! Won't tell you the colour of the stuff that's coming off my chest - far toooooo disgusting to even think about!;)
The antibiotics seem to be working though, which means I can probably put in appearance at the yard tomorrow. As for Merlin himself, he has far too good a time of it on full livery, so he won't miss me one little bit.......:D

I live a 30 minute drive from mine because they are kept on my parents land. When I start studying again I will only see them 3 or 4 times a week! Luckily they all live out 24/7 so my mum changes the rugs and feeds them for me. They are family pets really. :)

Unless there's a specific reason for me to be there I never go to the yard on a Sunday it's mine and roses day off so someone at the yard feeds her and if she's in over night someone puts her out for the day

I'm stuck at home doing the rest of my history, maths and english. Usually I would be really bored and dying to go and see him but with this weather I'm not too bothered! I know that he's in good hands so there is nothing for me to worry about really :) Just I would rather not be doing work!
