Following on from earlier post.Riding clubs have to hold their qualifiers for horse trials before July 9th.Ours is on the 8th,if it is not cancelled.I know others have been cancelled. Have you managed to rearrange them and what will they do if loads do not hold them?

The answer to that is at the moment no-one knows!!! The problem of cancelled qualifiers affects at least three areas, & maybe more. Those areas are trying to run before the cut off date......again your area rep is the best person to contact..............they are your link between the clubs in your area & the powers that be......

Ours is done as well - Area 12. Very lucky Pontispool is so dry!

Sorry - at a more reasonable hour that reply doesn't read well. The championships will run............those areas who haven't held a qualifier will not be able to send teams.

It doesn't look like our area (17) will have a team as any competition next weekend will clash with Tweseldown, as most of the open riders are BE affiliated I'm pretty sure it's unlikely they'll opt for a RC qualifier over a BE event.

We had ours (Area 7) at Kelsall today and it all held up well considering the rain we've had

Don't think I'll make any more comments or questions about riding club as zebedee seems to put me in my place. I like to ask other HHO posters but I should ,maybe ,only ask my area rep about these things!

Carthorse - we ran our Area Horse Trials Qualifier last week and have got the SJ next weekend.

In the past, twice our Area cancelled the Hunter Trial Qualifiers which used to be held in the Spring of the same year the Champs were on, but were cancelled due to wet weather.

Now we run our Hunter Trials in the October, for Champs the following year, so that if the weather is crap, we have 6 months to find another venue and date in the diary for the Spring.

As it's going to rain all this week I don't know what's going to happen about our SJ qualifier. I guess it depends what the land owner wants. As he hold his own competitions he may not want 500 RC horses descending on his land and wrecking it, so we'll have to wait and see??

Are you flooded?

Is it possible to share with another Areas to get your qualifiers in? Two other Areas shared out Area Horse Trials qualifiers this year. Rosettes/Qualification was accorded to each Area, but they didn't have many teams in two of the Areas so it would've been difficult to run seperate comps.

It might mean travelling a fair way, so I guess you Area Reps would have to make a decision soon about what to do.

Hi madhossy, I was just wondering as I know some clubs had cancelled.Ours is next sunday, they cancelled the sj today and reschedulled for July 21 and the dressage is already on July 22 so hope they are ok ,but the horse trials may be in doubt as it is still raining here but I'm sure they will do their best. I was just wondering how many were having problems

The reason that I always suggest that you ask your area rep is that they are the people who actually know whats going on with regard to things like qualifers...........so I thought that if you really wanted to know then that would be the best place for you ask, rather than to just speculate.

I too am always very interested to hear what posters on here have to say on all subjects & if you do manage to find out whats happening in your area then I'd like to hear!!!

He cancelled the two days of jumping planned for this weekend so it is likely he will cancel again if the ground is still wet.
