How Many Rugs Do Everyone Have???

As title says really, how many rugs do you have for one horse, including turn-outs, stable rugs, etc?

And are they all different types or do you tend to squirrel away lots of the same type of rugs?

Well mine share rugs, but altogether I have about 15.

2 heavyweight turnouts,
2 medium weight turnouts
3 lightweight turnouts
3 stable rugs various weights
2 coolers

also have about 3-4 spare turnouts and coolers.

4 turnouts, 6 stable, 4 exercise, 4 sheets, 1 thermatex, 1 wollen, 2 fleeces. That's for my horse. Pony has 4 turnouts, 2 stable, 3 sheets and she doesn't ever go into a stable!
That's without the countless ones I've got stored in the garage for those just in case times!! I don't think you can have too many!

Frankie has 3 turnouts (one heavyweight and 2 middleweights), a rain sheet, 2 stable, 2 exercise sheets, one show, and 2 coolers.

oh and i like to have a double duvet for when its really cold! have about 3 spare ones at home somewhere

I'm not sure how it has happened but I seem to have about 20 rugs for each of my 8 horses!!! I admit it, I am a compulsive rug buyer.

I like my horses to be cosy and look nice. Shame about my bank balance...

i just laugh at the fact my horse has a lw and md turnouts , hw on its way a cooler 2 stable rugs and i have a shitty old fleece that i got from work 3 years ago to keep me warm in the cold.something wrong there i think!

Hmm, well the two mares have one HW combo turnout each, a LW turnout each, and mine has an older HW turnout with attached neck. They have one underrug and one stable rug between them for emergencies, but as both live out very rarely use them. They also have one travel/fleece/cooler/general purpose sheet each for the odd occasion we take them anywhere!
Pony has one HW one mW and one LW turnout, one stable rug and a thin cotton summer sheet.
My arab however.....he has 2 HW turnouts, a LW turnout, an underrug, a LW stable, a HW stable, a waxed cotton summer sheet, a cooler and a thermatex. And that is after I had a massive clearout this summer!
So total of 23 rugs for 4 horses....not too bad unless I admit that 9 of them all belong to one horse!!

I am going to get him a new HW indoor as he's getting older and seems to be feeling the cold more than he used to, and it gets to be a bit of a pain layering up rugs!

, but my excuse is I do have 4 horses and if one has a new one then the others need one each too, to be honest could kit the rest of the horses on the yard out with rugs too (8 of them). Have all different types and weights too..........

My lad has 5 turnouts, 2 stable and 4 fleeces (no idea why he needs four..

).

Sister's boy has 3 turnouts, 2 stable, a fleece and an exercise rug. We've only had him a couple of months though so I'm sure he'll be accquiring more soon..

Little Welshie has 4 turnouts (one doesn't really fit though..), 3 stable and a fleece.

Far too many (over 25 is all I'll say!) - after collecting them for over 15 years I cant bear to get rid of any .... you just never know when you may need them!!

BTW my first horse (Wals) rugs were put away after he passed away years ago - I never thought I would have a horse dinky enough to fit them - then along comes Goggles - and they all fit him perfectly (well thats my excuse for hoarding and I'm sticking to it!!)

When we had a few tack burgularies around our way a few winters ago I lay in bed trying to work out how many rugs I had and the value to replace them all - it made me really think about security over the yard - quite frightning!!!

Per horse or all together? I seem ro have a knack for accumulating rugs and headcollars... B has about 9 or 10 rugs and Cop has 2

I kinda feel guilty that she hardly has any but she's a v wooly SectionA.
