Combine turnout and stable just to make life easy.

Don't include fleeces, waffles, coolers, doofers, weavers, thermatexes, permatexes, gold ones or diamond encrusted ones.

Just your average rug:)

Oh ok, I averaged out and came out at around 3. But then I included Daemon in that and he doesn't own any rugs, so I fear it's a bit skewed :p

My pony had lots of rugs ! far too many, but then I bought another horse who is the same size as her so that halves it I think ! They share everything apart from saddles!

Between my lot they are currently wearing 20 rugs. I have the same again 'spare' and I am refusing to count fly sheets, sweat sheets, coolers, travel sheets et al.

Phil has 1 x exercise sheet, 1 x fleece, 1 x no fill turnout, 1 x 180g turnout without neck and 1 x 200g turnout with neck :D

Combining 3 horses I have roughly 16 I think. I many have more if I count spare rugs that live in the loft.

my basic per horse is:
1 lw turnout
1 mw turnout
1 hw turnout
1 bug rug suitable to horse
1 lw stable
1 mw stable
1 hw stable
1 hw combo stable
1 fleece

However we probably have at least 4-5 random extra mediumish stables lying around, 3-4 random turnouts of varying weights that are past their best but would do if normal one got ripped or something. this is between horses although we used to have 4 so have some extras from when we had the 4
I swear I should open a rug shop!!!

I own over 20 horses, so over 20 rugs. Most of my horses have one winter rug (Rambo, Bucas or suchlike) each. Some have travelling/show rugs. Some have stable rugs that are only used when we get really really cold days during winter but it has to be lower than about -20 for me to put any extra rugs on any of them. I have no use for any more than is necessary although I do have a heck of a lot of redundant rugs that never see the light of day.

Shetland's got a rainsheet, a lightweight standard and a rambo wug.

The big uns have stable/light/med/heavy in combo and standard. I haven't included sweet itch rugs, fleeces or coolers.

Pete has:

1 x no fill standard neck turn out
1 x 50 gm standard neck turn out
1 x 180gm standard neck turn out rug.
1 x fleece
1 x fleece/mesh cooler (came with him)
1 x lightweight stable rug (came with him) .

I'm looking to get a thermatex for him this summer - but otherwise, he has everything he needs.

Too many lol :p

Ok my current horse has
- x2 combo medium weights,
- a standard neck medium weight
- x2 light weight one combo one standard
- x2 stable rugs one 100g and the other 200g
- x1 summer sheet
- x1 under rug
- x1 fly rug
- x2 fleeces

When I look at it like that I have too many rugs! :p :D

Although she will be living out next winter :)

I have 10 rugs between 5 horses although 2 of those are unruggrd natives but all 5 live out
I will be buying more tho as 3 are still growing youngsters and those that are clipped next winter will need stable rugs as my stables will be built by then :)

90 rugs? Cheeses!!!

Maybe I should have asked "how much have you spent on rugs... "

I have 2 rugs that I have bought and a hand-me-down. Total cost about £60. I know I may have to invest in a new one sooner or later...

If the average rug was, say, £50. If you had 100 rugs that's £5000. Granted, that it might not seem like much to some people and if you can, why the hell not!!?!!

I feel better now at contemplating a rug that's abut £150 as my "investment" rug... Seems cheap!!! :D

My first horse has-
3 rain sheets
waffle rug
fleece
combo 100g rug (t/o)
combo 200g rug (t/o)

My second horse has-
2 rain sheets
heavy fleece combo
100g rug combo (t/o)
standard 100g rug (t/o)
combo 200g (t/o)
combo 350g (t/o)

I think that is it... I don't see the point in stable rugs :p:p

Though I'm hoping to cut that down to one no fill rug each, and to each have a 100g rug and liners to go with them. (from premier equine) that will be alot of saving though!

Haha if we're talking price then 40 quid for my horse's two rugs and one came with pony who is on loan, I love second hand! Thinking of splashing out for a new one soon, oooh my collection will reach a vast 4 rugs!

Ok, you beat me on the thriftiness there...

I have no idea... I have indeed lost track :o

All I know is there are four neds. One is a foal with one rug. One is an unclipped Trad cob. T'other two are unclipoed DWB & ISH.

I have two garden shed thingies full of rugs. Some still in wrappers.

My name is MrsMozart and I have a rug problem...

One horse. She has:

One no fill turnout
One 40g turnout
One medium weight turnout which has never been out of the bag
One stable rug.

She has worn a rug about four times this winter. If I had known what I was doing when I bought her, she would just have the no fill and the 40g, they are used rarely, the others never.
