Mine has a 200g with or without neck during the day when out, and a 200g or 300g at night. It's pretty warm down south though, nothing like 1 degree! More like 10!

Heavy stable rug and lightweight fleece/canvas thing underneath at night / medium turnout with neck in the day.
But on a very fine skinned QH who was poorly last year (like the kid in the playground who has to wear their mac, whatever the weather!)

I seem to have a different rug on everyday - the weathers so changeable just now! He's had a medium weight on, but if it going to be cooler tonight i'll put a hw on instead.

Gyp is in a LW rug, no filling just a rain sheet day and night, he has a chaser clip but it is growing out now.
Hattie is in a LW rug during the day and a MW (220g) rug at night, she has a blanket clip which is growing out now but is a bit of a wuss.

the weather keeps changing..
the pat week maddie-s been out with 110g turnout day&night.
She's now in her medium weigh (220g) and should have her neck cover on.[not able to get up tp the yard to put it on though...woops!]
She's blanket clipped but she's hardy enough.
It's showing around 2 degree's right now, she's been out in worse i guess!

Don't make the mistake I did and turned mine out without a rung on yesterday. Big mistake I think she dive bombed the muddiest part of the field.

I have a TB (neck & belly clip) and TBX (no clip) and as I've been going to them lately the TBX in particular has been a bit sweaty under his 300g rug so he now wears a lightweight stable rug and goes out in a Bucas lightweight rug. The TB mare was in a 360g combo stable rug which I have now replaced with the gelding's 300g stable rug (without neck) and she goes out in a weatherbeeta Landa lightweight combo. We're not out of the woods yet though, can still snow in March so have still got my medium and heavyweights to hand! Complicated stuff this rugging!

My clipped ones have medium-weight rugs on. On milder days I take their neck covers off. They're still wearing their ultimate cosy stable rugs standing about at shows though as its still a bit nippy!

Three in MW NZ's no necks, one naked. All out 24/7 in minus temps and it's still snowing here, -8C outside now (6pm ish) but they are fine, never lift their heads from their hay and rarely bother to go in their sheds.

Both of mine are clipped, so we put 2 outdoor rugs on (as the heavy weight ones leak in if it rains so we put 2 waterproof on) Both have neck covers. And at night they come in so they have 1 big thick stable rug which has a 3/4 neck cover. If its really cold they have their fleeces on underneath

Would love to know what you would all put on your horses in my barn:

TOTALLY open fronted, the rain drives in too! I have 2 VLW rugs on and a rain sheet with neck overtop - horse has a clip too!

My tb mare is unclipped living out, but she has a thin coat, have a medium/lightweight on her and she's as happy as pie. It completely depends on the horse, 1 cooler night shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as it's not freezing or the horse catches a chill.

Same as he has on at the moment, 36Ogm breathable rug, night and day. Would LOVE a stable that big for Pidge, though not sure about the mucking out LOL

It is super mild down here in Somerset at the mo so my fully clipped Welsh/TB cross has a cooler and a medium weight turnout on.

Will go back to the full neck under rug if it cools down again though but fingers crossed we have seen the worst of winter now

Mine are both full clipped apart from below the knees are wearing a 400 g stable rug at night unless it goes above 8 and a 200 g stable rug during the day or warmer evenings.

MW turnouts when out. I don't use neck covers.

Wearing thicker rugs than I usually would use as I am trying to have Chancer with a show coat and Cairo with a finer coat for the spring so I don't have to clip out until late May.

They also get at least an hour a day without rugs - either being exercised or in the indoor school - like to have their skin have time to breath.
